The ideal applicant will have prior experience working with cutting-edge technologies, as well as knowledge of the financial services business and its environment. They will offer advice influencing corporate decisions and negotiating to attain business goals. They will assist in achieving organizational goals while limiting legal risk.

Qualifications

  • Typically include 3-7 years of legal practice with a technological concentration, or a similar combination of education and experience.
  • A law degree (LLB or JD) and a license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Private practice, in-house experience, or experience with a regulatory authority governing business/group activities may be required.
  • Knowledge of the legal field, often with a functional or business line focus.
  • Understand the commercial and regulatory environment in which BMO Financial Group operates.
  • Understanding of the subject area legal requirements and the activities of a single client group.
  • Negotiation skills have been developed.
  • Professional with a mix of education, experience, and industry expertise.
  • Expertise in both verbal and writing communication.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities are advanced.
  • In-depth/Expert level influence skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities, with a focus on cross-group collaboration (In-depth / Expert).
    Able to handle ambiguity.
    Data-driven decision-making – in-depth/expert.

Salary: $88,400.00 – $163,800.00

Pay Type: Salaried

Salaries will vary depending on region, skills, experience, education, and requirements for the position, and may involve a commission system. Part-time salaries will be prorated according to the number of hours worked on a regular basis. For commission roles, the compensation listed above is BMO Financial Group’s projected target for the first year in this position.
