We are now looking for an Assistant General Counsel, Labour & Employment to join our legal team. This is an excellent chance to engage as a strategic partner with the business on a wide range of complex labour and employment issues while leading a team of specialists.

Job Description

  • Lead a team of legal professionals to assist business units and cross-functional initiatives with a wide range of employment and labor law issues.
  • Give the company legal advice on key/complex issues, identify risks and mitigation solutions, and assist the organization in meeting its objectives.
  • Form solid alliances to advise and engage corporate executives at all levels, often handling situations with no precedence.

Qualification

  • LLB or J.D.
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Experience directing legal teams for over 10 years, both in-house and at firms, is a benefit.
  • shown subject matter expertise in labor and employment.
  • Agile and collaborative; demonstrated problem solver.
  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing solid business relationships.
  • Highly versatile and a lifelong learner.
